Dr. Namie is originally from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Western Kentucky University.  After graduating from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, she loved the Auburn family so much that she decided to stay.

Some of her passions include traveling and hiking; and she and her husband, Stu, have been section hiking the Appalachian Trail since 2016. They own a cattle farm in Opelika, where several rescue animals also call home. Dr. Namie almost always brings a few of her dogs to work with her every day. They sleep and relax in her desk drawer office: Violet (Boston Terrier), Juan Carlos (Chihuahua), Neutron (Chihuahua), and Daisy (French Bulldog).
